| In June 1962 Julie
Felix left her California home to hitch, busk and
gig her way around Europe. In September 1964 she
fetched up in London. Before the end of 1965 she
had sold out the Royal Albert Hall. She became a
sensation on BBC TV, not just in the UK but
wherever her shows were sold, to most countries
around the world. She was the resident singer on
David Frost’s weekly TV programme, The Frost
Report. This led on to her own series of
seventeen shows for the BBC, Once More With
Felix; followed by a further long-running series,
The Julie Felix Show. She has barely paused for
breath since. Of the twenty-two albums she has
released, the most recent was Highway of Diamonds
in 2008.She celebrated her 70th birthday on stage
in 2008 and her renowned good looks are as
striking as ever. Her appearance at the Crabshell
will be her 29th public performance so far this
year, normally in big venues, so this will be a
rare opportunity to enjoy a close up and intimate
evening of glorious singing and playing from a
much admired and hugely appreciated worldwide
star, embedded in the traditional music of the
