Jeff
Davis is one of Americas most
travelled and respected collectors and
interpreters of traditional music. He has haunted
libraries and archives, always looking for the
best of the peoples music. But, most
importantly, he has sought out the folks who
remember the old songs and tunes: from the
Carolina mountains and coast, Nova Scotia
farmers, African-American sailors or Adirondack
loggers: New England ballads, sea songs, love
songs and cowboy ditties, Delta guitar blues,
southern banjo rags and Yankee fiddle reels. He
can play most anything with strings on and some
without and hell be using as many as he can
carry or borrow. "Jeffs genuine love
for and continuing fascination with the
traditional music of America just shines out of
his whole performance". Brian Peters
travels the world as one of the English folk
scenes great all-rounders: a compelling
singer, a skilled guitarist and a virtuoso
squeezebox player, Brian is one of the
countrys best anglo-concertina players and
just as good on melodeon. Hes also
internationally feted as a singer of traditional
ballads. He has a repertoire of startling
variety: alongside classic songs from the
tradition, and lively English dance tunes, you
can expect to hear newer songs, his own
compositions, and wild squeezebox excursions into
ragtime or blues. "His stage act bristles
with energy and wit.
